To say Nicki Minaj isn't on the top of the world (and arguably the bottom as well), would be a lie as the rapper has been the topic of discussion for the past few weeks. From pushing her album back, creating her own radio show after brushing off new forms of media as "little podcast," and a handful of other controversies, it's hard not to keep up with Onika.
On Monday, Nicki took a visit to The Ellen Show and the two go together to talk relationships and for Nicki to continue tell everyone how she really felt about losing the No. 1 spot to Travis Scott.
“When someone says how they feel they’re not always upset or angry,” Nicki tells Ellen after being asked about Queen coming in at No. 2 behind Travis Scott's ASTROWORLD. "I felt like I wanted to punch him in his fucking face,” Nicki says after Ellen asks what she was feeling if she wasn't upset or angry.
Nicki continues to mention Scott's merchandise sales and how his t-shirts, sweaters, and passes for an unannounced tour were all being counted toward his album, where she on the other hand is a rapper is is focusing on rap.
“I don’t like being bullied and I don’t like being taken advantage of,” she says. “And sometimes people use scare tactics against you, because they know, especially as a black woman, people will call you angry or bitter, and so now it’s almost like we’re not allowed to defend ourselves or stand up for ourselves.”
Nicki does take a break from the Travis bashing (although who knows what will happen on the next Queen radio show) to talk about her love life and what she expects from her partner. Let's just say, if you're in a relationship with Nicki be prepared for adult time, or exercising as both Nicki and Ellen refer to it on the show, about three times a night with at least 30 mins in between; also, Nicki's not a fan of cuddling after to beware.
While Nicki still has yet to fully get over her No. 2 position with Queen as she holds some animosity, it was nice to see Nicki give back to her fans; something she's been known for doing via social media. She surprised three fans in the audience by helping pay for their student loans at the end of her interview. Watch the clip below to see the students' reaction to the "generous Queen's" gift.
